Winter Beauty Essentials: Must Have Makeup
02.08.19

With a frosty weekend ahead here in Auckland, we're turning to our makeup favourites to keep us feeling inspired.

In part two of our Winter Beauty series, read on to learn about our favourite makeup products of the moment, and how we're wearing them.

Beautiful Jane Etheridge in our Olympia Aria Hoops; The Holy Grail, Laura Mercier Translucent Powder, available at MECCA.

The ultimate base
Bare Minerals Bare Skin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation is our new holy grail find; like a tinted moisturiser, it is super sheer but buildable.
Their matching Concealer is also a current favourite - on days where you don't want a full face of makeup, this is all you need. Finish with the holy grail - Laura Mercier Transcluent Powder - one of the few we've found that don't 'pill' which is a rarity.

Aleph Beauty Cheek + Lip Tint in Crush; Mara Teigen complementing a classic gold hoop with a feminine makeup look.

Cheeks + Lips
We love what local brand Aleph beauty are doing at the moment and currently can't go past their Lip and Cheek Tint - a tiny pot with big colour payoff.
Find a colour that's like your lips, but better - currently we're loving Nude by Nature lipgloss in Dusk - a natural product that is also very affordable, and available in most good pharmacies.

A stunningly bold blue eyeliner look, with Eye of Horus Mineral Mascara, wonderful for contact lens wearers.

For the Eyes
CC's current favourite is the Eye of Horus Mineral Mascara creates beautiful volume - cruelty free with a nourishing formula, it is great for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers, too.

Our desert island must have
It has to be the Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette. a highlighter, bronzer and blush all in one, it is also super compact, making it perfect for away days.

L&O Muse Rosie Huntington Whiteley perfecting the glowing, neutral makeup look with a statement earring.  Try our Vintage Arabellas for a similar vibe.

On considering your makeup / jewellery combination
If a statement earring is on the cards, keep to minimal makeup and bright, dewy skin, or for a bolder look, choose an eye or a lip - never both.

Nothing highlights a 'good skin day' more than a fresh face, a tinted lip and a banging pair of earrings to frame the face.
Stay tuned for our hair product must have soon. In the meantime, for more beauty inspiration, head to our beauty board on Pinterest x
