Four fresh nail looks & the jewels to match
23.11.16

It’s amazing how a small surface area can lend itself to so much creativity. Fashion houses seem to be treating nails with even more attention as part of the runway beauty look, encouraging us to try new polish and take a break from the usual nude mani.

With this in mind and the holiday season beginning, here are four nail looks plucked from the SS17 collections and their favourite nail artists, alongside the jewels to pair them with.

CUTICLE POLISH

Spotted at: Rodarte
Details: Gold glitter polish from Morgan Taylor traces the outside of the nail, along the cuticle. A coat of nude polish first, then paint glitter polish on the skin using a detail brush. Wipe skin with a little alcohol to ensure the polish stays put for longer.

Wear with: Olympia Aletta gold bracelet and let the glitter act as your cocktail ring for the night.

FRENCH 2.0

Spotted at: Alicia Torello's Instagram feed, @aliciatnails
Details: The French tip is slowly making a comeback, but not in its original form. Torello has tried a more graphic look by painting on the diagonal. Jin Soon Choi also experimented, with a chic double french look using red, nude and gold polish. The latter is totally festive, but not over the top.

Wear it with: Olympia's Angelica ring

GRAPHIC EMBELLISHMENT

Spotted at: Jin Soon Choi's Instagram feed, @jinsoonchoi
Details: Almond shaped nails painted all black, apart from a landing strip of glitter gold polish. Less gothic, more queen of the night.
Wear it with: Fendi Milan earrings

HALF MOON ROUGE

Spotted at: Charlotte Olympia
Details: The 40s carnival party that went down on the Charlotte Olympia runway featured bright red nails to match the festive vibe, although with one key difference. Each nail had a bare half moon at the base, creating a red reverse french manicure.
