Lockdown Loves ♥ Things that are inspiring us right now

A roundup of our favourite people, things and must-reads currently keeping us feeling entertained and inspired during lockdown x

Recently we've been inspired by female artists transforming quarantine fatigue into new work, a current favourite on our radar being Italian painter, Malù Dalla Piccola.

Born in Rome, Malù now works and lives in Paris and focuses on the intricacies of light, depth and tridimensionality. Through her work, Malù challenges the perfect representation of the feminine body in the European culture and thus often portrays women's bodies as incomplete. Inspired by the amazing combination of colours in nature, she often uses pigments made from precious stones in her paintings.
Above, Italian artist Malù Dalla Piccola documents working in her Parisian home.

Aside from admiring her work directly, we've loved her fly on the wall approach to documenting quarantine via her growing Instagram page, here.  We've also been left incredibly inspired by her dreamy Parisian home, as captured by Vogue recently - for serious decor goals, take a peep at the video below.

Having had more time than ever to appreciate our homes this year, it's safe to say we've invested more so than usual in surrounding us with beautiful objects that bring us joy.

As well as spending the time to remove items that no longer serve us within our sacred spaces, the addition of a newly framed of piece of art (or simply, a rearrangement of our existing pieces), or a chic dresser table accessory which doubles as a functional object, such as a vintage candlestick, candle lamp or jewellery box has done wonders to liven up the area and, as a result, boost morale.
The latest addition to The Edit, a rare Art Deco Candle Set, shop it here.

This sweet duo has just arrived to The Edit; a rare, blush pink frosted glass tea-light candle lamp and matching candle holder that will instantly add a little softness, femininity and romance to your home or bathroom set up. This beautiful set was originally purchased by its previous owner in the 1960s for her boudoir, but is thought to date back to the Art Deco era. As one of only one, shop the set here before it's gone.
(Shipping is still available nationwide during L2 and L3)

Recently we've become slightly obsessed with collecting vintage négligée, a fascination which has come in handy since moving back into level three, meaning all the usual rules for dressing are now, quite literally, out the window.

Our latest obsession, replacing everyday wear for vintage négligée and other rare, beautiful garments for around the home.  L-R: Sororite Vintage makes a case for boudoir to zoom-call attire - simply add a blazer and you are good to go;  A recent acquisition via our founder, Constance (featuring a pair of vintage Gucci heels nearby, ready to take the look from to-home-office chic to dinner date, even if it is only a room away!); A rare vintage corset in the prettiest shade of blush, by Christian Dior.
Looking at the silver linings, we are making the most of the opportunity to swan about in whatever we please (save for of course the occasional aforementioned zoom meeting - in this case, the effortless addition of a vintage cardigan or blazer and a pair of statement earrings will ensure you are con-call ready in mere moments!).

Unconditional Magazine

Usually, having the time to flick through a magazine is a luxury we can't always afford, but now more than ever it feels important to support the independent titles bringing us the relevant, quality content we crave.

An emblem for the creative leaps that women have forever taken in their lives and in their work, Unconditional magazine is a publication driven by the impulse to notice the remarkable individuals around us and the magazine editors' urge to share their stories and their world with us all.

If there is one new magazine you subscribe to this season, and if it's not already on your list, we thoroughly recommend this beautiful and considered title.

Stay safe, stay fabulous,
Xx The Love and Object Team
