In celebration of our seventh anniversary this month, as a natural evolution for New Zealand’s authority in vintage and handmade jewellery, Love and Object launches its latest limited edition collection, Fine Jewels - A rare and decadent collection of fine vintage gems from a bygone era
Encompassing an expertly edited collection of fine vintage gems, our new curation of rare heirloom pieces - many of which are the only of their kind in existence - include treasures from a variety of eras spanning Georgian, Art Deco and more.
Each piece is crafted in solid gold or platinum, set with precious diamonds, emeralds, opals, sapphires, and other fine stones.
“Each precious jewel in our new Fine collection is honoured for its own unique, natural properties,” says Constance.
On deciding on the jewels to hero in the first edition, Constance says “it was a combination of being instantly drawn to the distinctive and unusual beauty in each piece, as well as the desire to pay homage to a number of important and ever inspiring people in my life, which felt particularly fitting as we simultaneously celebrate our seventh year in business this month.”
“Aquamarine, which features heavily in this collection, is the birthstone of my late grandmother, whom I adored. Growing up, I fondly recall admiring her collection of Aquamarine jewels that my father had either made especially for her, had sourced for her or arranged for my grandfather to gift to her.”
“Opals are also very close to my heart, being both my own birthstone and the birthstone of a number of my most cherished girlfriends.”
“Emeralds I am drawn to particularly due to their combination of beauty and fragility, while Cameos, too, make a strong appearance in this collection due to their resemblance to renaissance paintings – an artistic period which has heavily inspired the Love and Object aesthetic since our inception, in 2013.”

- Love and Object est. 2013 -
Growing up in a household that was passionate about rare and unique jewellery, fashion and objets d’art, it was inevitable that Founder and Creative Director, Constance Cummings would develop a deep love for objects that were both beautiful and individual.
With the rise of identical, mass-produced items in fashion, Constance noticed a growing group desired authenticity, rarity and quality in the objects they chose to adorn their homes and bodies with.
With this in mind, Love and Object was born - a curated, seasonal offering of fine vintage, designer jewels and handmade bijoux and accessories for the discerning customer which are beautifully crafted, eternally stylish and infused with a timeless and seductive allure.
From designer vintage to hand-forged Olympia pieces and now Fine Jewels, Love and Object offers thoughtful creations that outlive throwaway fashion, are destined to remain highly desirable and will continue to be loved for years to come.
