In preparation for baby von Dadelszen's impending arrival, our founder, Constance has recently pared back her beauty routine. Read on to learn about thew new pregnancy-friendly and local products she has recently discovered and fallen in love with.
I was lucky to meet the beautiful Emma Lewisham a few years ago through Love and Object, as she owns some drop dead gorgeous pieces from us across our Vintage and Olympia collections. After supporting us in the early years, I was over the moon to discover the launch of her clean, cruelty free skincare brand and jumped at the opportunity to return the love.
With some pesky pregnancy pigmentation popping up on my skin recently, I purchased her highly rated Skin Reset serum and the newly-launched Supernatural Night Creme, and I can confirm the hype is warranted. Both products have since become a wonderful addition to my daily routine.
L-R: Supernatural Night Creme by Emma Lewisham, a Jade Face Roller, Love and Object x Grace and Flora Forever Floral Arrangement and Rare Collectible Vase (one of a set of three), shop it here, The Aphrodite Shell Jewellery Dish - shop it here, our newly launched Givenchy Door Knocker Earrings, shop them here, Skin Reset by Emma Lewisham, Crush Lip and Cheek Tint by Aleph, the Olympia Alessandra Necklace in Gold, shop it here (made to order).
A Chance Encounter
Another stand out New Zealand made product I’ve discovered is Aotea’s Kawakawa balm, which I’m now addicted to. I discovered this during lockdown #1, when I couldn’t get hold of my usual skin balm.
This product is a do-it-all skin saviour for dry skin, chapped lips and most other skin issues, and is now both a handbag and nightstand staple.
L-R: Skin Reset by Emma Lewisham, Skin Defend Mist from The Herb Farm, The Buena Hoop Earring in Gold and Baroque Pearl, shop it here, Aotea Kawakawa Balm, Supernatural Night Creme by Emma Lewisham, and if you love the look of CC's Antique Brass Mirror, shop this similar version, here.
My New Handbag Essentials
Joining my handbag must-haves is the Skin Defend Mist from The Herb Farm. It smells divine and instantly quenches my thirsty winter skin.
For a little colour on the cheeks and lips I’ve been using Crush Lip and Cheek Tint by Aleph - now a long-time favourite - I love that when applied it looks like my natural lip colour but better.
L-R: 1960s Balenciaga Clip-ons (coming soon - but if you can't wait, contact us here), Aotea Kawakawa Balm, La Bouche Rouge Lipstick, Skin Defend Mist from The Herb Farm.
All of these products are pregnancy safe, with no plastic packaging which I love. I’ve scaled down my skincare routine lately as I’m too tired at night to fuss around with lots of steps, so I’m proud to say that the majority of my skincare staples are NZ made.
