This Month We...
28.04.16

A Love and Object look at April, a month of beauty finds, indulgences and Vogue musings on why our generation needs a reminder on personal style.

Resisted the urge to purchase...
The latest Gucci fringe suede Boots from Net-A-Porter for winter, so bought a pair of last season's Guiseppe Zanotti boots from Yoox.com instead.

Decided…
that to make room for a new season updates like ladylike shirting, rich winter woollens and tailored pants, a wardrobe refresh was in order. Selling everything that doesn’t quite work and donating the rest to charity.

Treated myself to….
A fresh makeup look of copper, rose and sienna shades for eyes and nails. Favourites include Charlotte Tilbury’s Vintage Vamp Eye Kit, also Louboutin's nail polish in Lady Peep.

Listened to…
The song titled “Marilyn Monroe” by Netherlands-based singer & producer Sevdaliza.

Trend forecasted that…
Romance is about to once again infiltrate our wardrobes. Hopefully this leads to the demise of the co-ordinated jogger leggings-and-crop top combo currently seen on females aged 11 - 35 globally.

Exercised zero self control....
When we found the perfect hair styling product for fine hair. Addicted daily to the mega volume created by RandCo’s Rockaway Sea Salt Spray. A zero-hesitation purchase.

Booked…
Tickets for Love and Object's next European buying trip. We’ll be stopping by our Hong Kong outpost on the way. Looking forward to catching up with our favourite suppliers again and have made bookings with some exciting new discoveries too.

Drink of choice…
A shot of raw, cold-pressed apple cider vinegar in the morning. Alkalising and perfect for transitional seasons.

Read…
Alessandro Codinha’s on point article about the the death of personal style.

Admired…
The work of Melbourne artist Sara Kelk, whose abstract paintings and prints are the often the starting point for her design projects. Her latest work features a colour palette we’re currently obsessed with: pastel hues mixed with pops of earthy tones or punches of red.
